Summary

3。75 StarsA surprisingly good read。 I don't know why, but going into this book I wasn't that excited。 It did follow some classic tropes, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this。 Per usual, there are some unrealistic moments, but Thea was a much better lead than I thought she would be。 The plot twists were very predictable, but overall a good read for my first book of the year。 3。75 StarsA surprisingly good read。 I don't know why, but going into this book I wasn't that excited。 It did follow some classic tropes, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this。 Per usual, there are some unrealistic moments, but Thea was a much better lead than I thought she would be。 The plot twists were very predictable, but overall a good read for my first book of the year。 。。。more

I think it may be safe to say that Lenora Bell is one of my new favorite historical romance authors。 I'm glad I picked this one up a little bit after the first in the series because to be honest I wasn't really interested in reading about Thea, but now that I had some separation I really enjoyed her story。 I also remembered a good amount from the first book, which isn't always the case。 I think it may be safe to say that Lenora Bell is one of my new favorite historical romance authors。 I'm glad I picked this one up a little bit after the first in the series because to be honest I wasn't really interested in reading about Thea, but now that I had some separation I really enjoyed her story。 I also remembered a good amount from the first book, which isn't always the case。 。。。more

4。5 stars for Lenora Bell! This was my first Lenora Bell, but as they say, it certainly won't be my last。 This was FANTASTIC - such a fun romp of a historical romance。 Thea and Dalton make such a great pair - the banter in here was fantastic and had me chuckling from their first letters in the first few pages。 I loved Thea as a heroine, she's someone who just wants to be free from society and do her own thing, which is something I always love reading about in historicals (especially where it brin 4。5 stars for Lenora Bell! This was my first Lenora Bell, but as they say, it certainly won't be my last。 This was FANTASTIC - such a fun romp of a historical romance。 Thea and Dalton make such a great pair - the banter in here was fantastic and had me chuckling from their first letters in the first few pages。 I loved Thea as a heroine, she's someone who just wants to be free from society and do her own thing, which is something I always love reading about in historicals (especially where it brings them onto a collision course with a rake。。。)。 I thought the vigilante, revenge seeking side of Dalton was really interesting and provided a nice touch of both character development and plot (with his brother and needing to travel to Ireland, etc。)。 And the fact that he basically saved Thea's brother from ruination?? so good (I LOVED when they were discussing Dalton's alter ego)。 I mean this book has the markings of a great historical rom com vibe - excellent banter, tonssss of forced proximity and resulting chemistry。 Amazing。 Will be reading more! 。。。more

Dorothea does not wish to be married off。 She is tired of parading through the season trying to catch the eye of some man who will then direct the rest of her life, may cheat on her if he wants, and most likely make her life miserable。 She wants to be a spinster and retire to the wilds of Ireland with her aunt。 She wants to research a female painter that she does not believe gets the recognition she deserves。 When she finds a painting in a "closed" house in Ireland she is determined to get the o Dorothea does not wish to be married off。 She is tired of parading through the season trying to catch the eye of some man who will then direct the rest of her life, may cheat on her if he wants, and most likely make her life miserable。 She wants to be a spinster and retire to the wilds of Ireland with her aunt。 She wants to research a female painter that she does not believe gets the recognition she deserves。 When she finds a painting in a "closed" house in Ireland she is determined to get the owner, a Duke, to allow her to catalogue all of the artwork in the house。 Being the only daughter, there is no reason to worry about endangering anyone else's prospects。 But her mother & grandmother could care less what she wants。 Dalton, the Duke of Osbourne will never marry。 His secret life is way too dangerous to bring a wife into。 He is determined to find the man that killed his younger brother years ago and drove his mother to become agoraphobic。 When Dorotha plows into his life, he cannot wait to oust her。 I loved the way that Dorothea stood up to the Duke。 When she took the place of his Masseuse, I laughed out loud。 She really has his number。 I also loved the side characters。 I hope that Molly has or gets a book。 I want to know if she gets her dream。 。。。more

This book was so much better than the first one! I loved this book。 I loved Theo and Dalton both。 They were just amazing characters。 Their chemistry was awesome with so much tension between them。 It was really amazing and I look forward to the next book,

What a fun read。 I loved it。 Dalton and Thea are so much fun, especially Thea。 Neither is who they seem to be on the surface, and together each helps the other to break out of the mold and become who they really are inside。 Chuckled my way through at their mishaps along the way。Excellent。

It was cute, but I found myself skipping over parts, after the halfway mark。 We love a brooding man, but still, sometimes I had to roll my eyes at Dalton's refusal to let Thea love him。Also I did NOT enjoy the twist at the end。 It was too left field。 It was cute, but I found myself skipping over parts, after the halfway mark。 We love a brooding man, but still, sometimes I had to roll my eyes at Dalton's refusal to let Thea love him。Also I did NOT enjoy the twist at the end。 It was too left field。 。。。more

my first book by the author Lenora Bell, I love this one very much, a witty, steamy read。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Thea is really funny and saucy! I did not get the impression that she was shy or clumsy or all of what Society mentioned she was。 The prologue showed her personality so I did not believe the troupe of her so called shyness。 I liked the twist with Patrick, I was hoping we will get a story for him but we’ll see for book 3。

I liked it a lot, it's good that they got to know each other in a different way than what usually happens in this type of novel。 And I love it when the books contain the exchange of letters。 I liked it a lot, it's good that they got to know each other in a different way than what usually happens in this type of novel。 And I love it when the books contain the exchange of letters。 。。。more

4。5 starsI think this might wind up being my favorite series from Lenora Bell。A few of my favorite things, a roadtrip, confined quarters, single bed。。。。。All Thea wants is to have one last lackluster season then she can go back to living with her aunt in Ireland and be who she wants to be。 Who she wants to be is the woman that catalogues all the priceless artwork locked away in the Duke of Osbornes neglected estate next door to her aunt。 She writes several letters to try and convince him to allow 4。5 starsI think this might wind up being my favorite series from Lenora Bell。A few of my favorite things, a roadtrip, confined quarters, single bed。。。。。All Thea wants is to have one last lackluster season then she can go back to living with her aunt in Ireland and be who she wants to be。 Who she wants to be is the woman that catalogues all the priceless artwork locked away in the Duke of Osbornes neglected estate next door to her aunt。 She writes several letters to try and convince him to allow it, but he stubbornly refuses。Osborne doesn't trust Thea as it was her mother that tried to trick his BFF in the last book, he thinks she's trying to trap him into marriage, so he dances with her making her incredibly popular and thinks he's done a good deed。。。。。 until she shows up at his flat and basically blackmails him into helping her run away。 The chemistry between these 2 was a lot of fun, as was watching Thea become her own person。 。。。more

Like the first book in the series, I really liked the characters, but the plot/pacing didn't really work and there were a few threads left not really dealt with to satisfaction。 I also legitimately exclaimed "Wait WHAT???" out loud when (view spoiler)[it turned out Alec was actually alive。 That was a level of Drama I was not expecting, that then got entirely let down because it was barely dealt with。 (hide spoiler)] Like the first book in the series, I really liked the characters, but the plot/pacing didn't really work and there were a few threads left not really dealt with to satisfaction。 I also legitimately exclaimed "Wait WHAT???" out loud when (view spoiler)[it turned out Alec was actually alive。 That was a level of Drama I was not expecting, that then got entirely let down because it was barely dealt with。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

This is my second Lenora Bell book and she's just not my cup of tea。 It had the potential of mirroring the plot of "A Week to be Wicked" by Tessa Dare。 But there was just too much thrown into the mix。 It felt like a quilt with too many colors。 I think if the author can focus her attention on one piece of the puzzle at a time - like the Robin Hood parallel - it wouldn't feel so jam-packed。 Not bad, but just a bit too busy and convenient for my tastes。 This is my second Lenora Bell book and she's just not my cup of tea。 It had the potential of mirroring the plot of "A Week to be Wicked" by Tessa Dare。 But there was just too much thrown into the mix。 It felt like a quilt with too many colors。 I think if the author can focus her attention on one piece of the puzzle at a time - like the Robin Hood parallel - it wouldn't feel so jam-packed。 Not bad, but just a bit too busy and convenient for my tastes。 。。。more

The story got better towards the end。 It wasn't exactly boring but I just didn't feel a deep connection with the characters。 Thea was supposedly really socially awkward but I didn't see any of that in the book。 It was such a difference from how her character was setup in the beginning that it was puzzling。 The story got better towards the end。 It wasn't exactly boring but I just didn't feel a deep connection with the characters。 Thea was supposedly really socially awkward but I didn't see any of that in the book。 It was such a difference from how her character was setup in the beginning that it was puzzling。 。。。more

I loved this heroine! Smart Intelligent but OMG we get it, all of Lenora's heroes have a tragic background that forces them to become manwhores。 The hero is fine and all and he doesn't cheat on the heroine but it gets annoying constantly being reminded of his past。 Even though it is exaggerated it seems unnecessary。 The heroine though is amazing and funny。 I loved this heroine! This was a fun book。 The main character, Thea, longs for two things: to leave the season forever and live with her aunt in Ireland and to hunt through the attics of Balfry House for art。 She approaches its owner, the Duke of Osborne, at a ball, and he, busy with his own affairs, makes her the belle of the ball to distract her。 Unfortunately, lecherous older gentlemen pursue her then, so Thea demands he take her with him as he travels to Ireland for his own secret revenge scheme。 He accepts, and This was a fun book。 The main character, Thea, longs for two things: to leave the season forever and live with her aunt in Ireland and to hunt through the attics of Balfry House for art。 She approaches its owner, the Duke of Osborne, at a ball, and he, busy with his own affairs, makes her the belle of the ball to distract her。 Unfortunately, lecherous older gentlemen pursue her then, so Thea demands he take her with him as he travels to Ireland for his own secret revenge scheme。 He accepts, and their travels kindles their relationship。 Some nice subplots that add tension and intrigue and really nice character development too。 。。。more
